Janani Eye Clinic

Our eye clinic is at number 1 on the 4th Main Road inside the Sundarsan Complex in Nangaur. The complex is a busy place with other offices and shops all around us. We are tucked away in one part of the building so you have to look for the door at the end of the corridor. We have some charts on the wall for checking vision and a couple of specialized machines for looking at eyes. Most of the day we are switching lights on and off to do the tests and talking to people about their glasses. The waiting area has some plastic chairs and a small table with a few old newspapers on it. It gets quite warm in the afternoon when the sun hits that side of the building so we keep the curtains drawn. We see a lot of older folks from Nangaur who come in to get their eyes checked because they can't read the paper like they used to. We also get some kids who need help seeing the board at school. The staff here is small so we mostly just handle the paperwork and the patients one by one. There is a tea stall downstairs that we go to when things get quiet for a minute. It is a straightforward job and the Sundarsan Complex is a decent place to be based for our small clinic operations and daily routine.
