Janaki Saraswathi Consultancy Privatelimited is located in Alwarpet, which is a bit different from the crowded streets of T. Nagar. We are on 3rd Street, and our building has both an old number 4 and a new number 7. It can be a little confusing for delivery drivers sometimes. The neighborhood is full of trees, so it feels a bit cooler here during the summer months. Our office is more like a converted house than a formal business building. It has a kitchen and a small balcony where we sometimes take our phone calls. There are only a handful of us working here, so it’s a very close-knit group. We deal with various consultancy tasks, mostly involving research and typing out documents. The rooms are filled with the sound of keyboards clicking and the occasional ring of a desk phone. We don't have a big corporate logo on the wall or anything like that. Instead, we have some plants on the windowsills and a few calendars pinned up. We usually start our work around ten and finish up by six or seven in the evening. Most of us walk or bike to work because we live nearby. It’s a very quiet and peaceful way to run a business. We focus on the work in front of us and don’t spend much time thinking about how we look to the outside world. It is just a simple, honest workspace in a nice part of town. We mostly keep to ourselves and get things done.
