Jainsons Anna Nagar 2

The day usually starts around nine when we roll up the shutters at the New Sunshine Apartment building. Being right on the corner near 11th Main Road in Anna Nagar means there is always something going on outside. The Santhosh Super Market is just a few steps away, so we get a lot of people wandering in after they finish their grocery shopping. Some just want to enjoy the breeze for a second because it gets so hot out there on 2nd Avenue. We’ve been here for a while and the shop has become a bit of a familiar sight. It is not some fancy showroom with polished floors and bright spotlights. We just have our shelves and our stock. Sometimes the boxes pile up near the entrance when a new shipment comes in and we have to scramble to move them out of the way. It’s just two of us working most shifts. We spend a lot of time talking to the regulars about the local news or how the traffic is getting worse every year. The walls have a few scuffs here and there from moving things around. We don't really worry about it much as long as everything is where it should be. We eat our lunch in the small space at the back, usually in a hurry. By the time evening rolls around, the streetlights come on and we start thinking about heading home. It is a simple life and we like it.
