Jain Electricals

We are located at 39/48 General Muthiah Mudali Street, which is right in the Elephant Gate Street area. If you’ve ever been down this way, you know how narrow the streets are and how many people are always moving about. Jain Electricals is a small shop packed with as many light bulbs, switches, and spools of wire as we can fit into the space. Sometimes it’s hard to even find the counter because there are boxes stacked in the aisles. We’ve been in this spot for quite a long time, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, though the traffic always stays the same. Most of our customers are locals or electricians who know exactly what they need and don't want to spend all day looking for it. We keep a lot of bits and pieces in little plastic bins behind the counter. It can get pretty chaotic when three people are asking for different things at once, but we manage to find what they need eventually. There’s an old ceiling fan that squeaks a bit, and we usually have a radio playing somewhere in the back. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where we are on General Muthiah Mudali Street. It’s a bit of a squeeze, but it’s our space and we know every inch of it.
