If you head over to Tambaram West in Chennai, you’ll find us right by the Railway Colony at No. 232 / A. It’s a very specific part of town where you can hear the trains rattling by quite often. That sound has just become part of our daily life here. We work on freight forwarding, which mostly means we spend a lot of time on the phone or sending emails to coordinate how goods get from one place to another. Our office is simple, nothing too modern, just desks and chairs and stacks of folders. The Railway Colony area is actually quite green compared to the rest of the city, which is nice when we step out for a break. We handle a lot of the messy paperwork that comes with international shipping. It’s a lot of numbers and dates that have to be right. We have a small team here and we’ve all known each other for a long time. There’s a tea shop just down the road where we go when we need a breather from the computer screens. The weather in Tambaram is typical for Chennai—either very hot or very rainy. We just keep the fans spinning and keep working through the lists. It’s not a glamorous business, but it’s what we know. We’re just local people helping to move things across the globe from our little spot in Tambaram. We focus on the details and try to keep things moving.
