We’re located over in Sowcarpet, specifically at E 20/6 on Arunachalam Street. If you’ve ever been to this part of Chennai, you know it’s a very busy, crowded place full of shops and narrow lanes. Our office is a small spot run with the help of T. Krishnakumar’s family. It’s not what most people expect when they think of a big technology institute, but this is where we do our administrative work and coordination. The street is always loud with carts, bikes, and people moving around, but inside it’s a bit calmer. We have a few desks and some old shelves for all the paperwork. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get everyone in sometimes. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a sign that lights up. Most people find us by asking the neighbors or looking for the house number. We handle a lot of the local logistics and student-related inquiries from here. It feels like a real part of the community because we’re right there in the middle of everything. We spend our days answering phones and filling out forms. It’s not glamorous, but it’s the work that needs doing. Living and working in Sowcarpet means you have to be okay with a bit of chaos, and we’ve grown to like the energy of the place over the years.
