We’ve been here at Gangai Amman Koil Street for a while now. Lakshmipuram is a busy part of Chennai and it gets really hot in the afternoons. Most days involve a lot of phone calls with drivers and checking where the trucks are. We sit in the office at No. 100/56 and just try to get the work done. The street outside is usually full of people and small shops. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out, which is just part of life here. We handle a lot of different types of cargo. People come in with paperwork, we sort it out, and the goods move on. It’s not fancy work, but it keeps us busy from morning till evening. My desk is always covered in files and receipts. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall around the corner when things get too hectic. We know the neighborhood well and the people here know us. It’s a bit dusty because of the traffic, but we’re used to it. Every day is pretty much the same—loading, unloading, and making sure the logs are updated. We don’t have any big corporate meetings or anything like that. We just focus on the job at hand and try to make sure everything gets to where it needs to go without too much trouble. It’s just us doing our thing in this corner of Chennai. We don't have a big fancy lobby, just some plastic chairs and a lot of logbooks.
