We’re located in the Citilights Corporate Centre at No. 1 Vivekananda Street, just off Mayor Ramanathan Road. Heidenhain Optics & Electronics is a bit of a long name, so we usually just say Heidenhain when we’re answering the phones. Our office is a pretty straightforward place. We have a lot of sensitive equipment around because we deal with optics and electronics, so things have to stay relatively clean and organized. It’s not a "fun" office with bean bags or anything. It’s just a place where we come to do technical work. The building itself is easy to find, which helps when people are trying to drop things off. Most of us have been working in this field for years, so we’ve got a routine down. We come in, check the specs, and spend most of the day focused on the hardware. Vivekananda Street is a decent area, though the parking can be a bit of a struggle if you don't get here early. We have a small area for lunch, but most of us just eat at our desks while we read the news. We don't have big mission statements on the walls. We just try to make sure the electronics are working exactly like they’re supposed to. It’s quiet work that requires a lot of patience. Sometimes we stay late when a project is tricky, but that’s just how it goes.
