You will find us over at 67 Sembudoss Street. Parrys is a very crowded place, and this street is no different. It’s been our home for a long time. H. R. Bajaj & Sons is a family name, and we’ve tried to keep things going the way they always have since the beginning. The building is quite old, and the stairs are a bit narrow and creaky. There’s always someone shouting or a horn honking outside on the road. It’s just how it is in this part of the city. We deal with steel items all day long. The office is small and filled with ledgers and stacks of old papers. We don’t use many fancy computers or technology here. Most of our work is done through simple talk and handshakes. People walk in from the street looking for specific parts or pieces. If we have it in the back, we sell it. If not, we usually tell them where else they might look. It’s a very busy atmosphere every single day. The loaders are always carrying heavy loads on their backs down the narrow lane. It’s a tough way to make a living but we are very used to it by now. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually take our breaks when we have a minute. You see the same faces every day in the neighborhood. We don’t change much here. We just stay at our spot and keep the business running.
