George Town is always crowded, and 95 Coral Merchant Street is right in the middle of it. We’ve been operating K. R. K. Exports from this old building for quite some time. Muthialpet has its own vibe, very traditional and busy. Our day starts early. Usually, there's a lot of shouting and trucks moving outside. We deal with exports, mostly packing up things that people need elsewhere. It’s a lot of manual work. We don't have fancy software for everything. A lot of it is still pen and paper or just knowing who to call. The stairs here are a bit narrow, so moving big boxes can be a pain. But we're used to it. The tea stall around the corner is where we spend most of our breaks. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the stuff we send out gets there in one piece. Sometimes the rains make things difficult, especially with the old roof, but we fix it up and keep going. Customers come by, sit on the plastic chairs, and we talk about the orders. It’s how business happens here. No big boardrooms or powerpoint things. Just us and the goods. We’ve seen many shops come and go on this street, but we’re still here doing our bit. We don't ask for much more than that.
