George Maijo

We’ve been here at 2B in the Apex Plaza for a good while now. If you know Nungambakkam High Road, you know how busy it gets out there every single day. Most of the time it’s just us sitting at our desks, taking calls and looking over papers. The office isn't anything fancy, just a regular space where we get our work finished. Sometimes the elevators in the building take forever to arrive, so we just use the stairs if we aren't carrying too much stuff. George Maijo is basically just a group of us who show up every morning and try to keep things moving. We don't really have big meetings or anything like that. We just talk across the desks to get things sorted. Usually, someone brings in some snacks around four o'clock because the tea shop downstairs is always packed. The traffic outside is loud, but you get used to it after a week or two. We handle a lot of different things here, mostly coordination and making sure the orders are actually going where they should. It’s not always exciting, but it’s steady work. We’ve got a couple of old fans that make a bit of noise, but they keep the air moving when it gets humid. People come and go through the plaza all day. We just keep our heads down and handle whatever comes across the desk. It’s a decent place to spend the day. Nothing more to it than that.
