We’ve been operating out of 548, K.V.K. Swamy Street in Chennai for a good while now. It’s a busy spot and the traffic nearby can be a bit much during rush hour, but we like it here. Most of our days are spent looking at site plans or talking to the crew about foundation work. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean for long. We deal with structures and the heavy stuff that goes under them to make sure everything stays put. Living and working in Tamil Nadu means we’re used to the heat, even when we’re out in the dirt. The office is pretty basic, just some desks and a lot of rolled-up drawings. We don’t really go in for anything flashy. Our focus is just on getting the foundations right so the rest of the building has a chance. Sometimes we’re out at a site all day and other times we’re stuck here doing the math and filling out forms. It’s a lot of coordination between the different guys. If you walk past our place, you’ll probably see a couple of us standing outside talking shop. We’ve been in the industry for years and have seen plenty of changes in how things are built. We just keep our heads down and handle the structural side of things. It's practical work that requires some patience and a lot of concrete. It’s just how things get done around here.
