If you are looking for us, we are over at No-5, which used to be No-3, on 9th Street in Tansi Nagar. Velachery is always moving, but our street is a bit more tucked away from the main madness. General Electricals has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. The building is older, but it works for what we do. We have tools scattered around and parts sitting on the shelves. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. People from the nearby houses often drop in just to ask a question or see if we have something in stock. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a few of us who know the trade. The street gets a little crowded with parked scooters in the evenings, but that’s just Velachery life. We try to keep the shop open consistent hours so folks know they can find us. There’s a certain smell of grease and metal that just sticks to the place. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just fix things and provide what’s needed. It’s honest work. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when it’s slow. We’ve seen Tansi Nagar change a lot over the years, but we’re still here at the same spot, doing what we’ve always done.
