If you’re looking for our Chennai office, we are at No. A1, Saroja Classics on Seethambal Street in Vadapalani. It’s a well-known area, mostly because of the studios and the temple nearby. Our office is on the ground floor, which makes it easy for the site workers and vendors to drop in without having to climb too many stairs. Gammon India has been operating out of this apartment-style space for several years. It feels more like a house than a typical business center. We have ceiling fans going all day to fight the Chennai humidity, and there’s always a faint smell of sambar from the neighbor’s kitchen around lunchtime. The furniture is a bit mismatched, mostly stuff we’ve collected over the years. We keep our blueprints in large metal racks and our files in old green cabinets. It’s a busy place, especially in the mornings when we’re coordinating the day’s tasks. We don’t have a fancy sign or a polished reception area. Instead, you’ll find a few chairs in the hallway and plenty of people talking over their phones. It’s a practical environment for an engineering firm. We focus on getting the work done and making sure our projects in the city are moving along. It’s a bit cluttered and sometimes noisy, but it’s our base, and it works perfectly for the way we do things here in Vadapalani. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the city.
