Down here at No. 2 Janakpuri on the Velachery Bypass, things are always moving. We are G. M. Pens International Pvt. Ltd., and we spend our days dealing with ink, plastic, and nibs. It’s funny how much goes into a simple pen that someone uses for a second and then forgets. We’ve been in Velachery for quite some time, and the traffic outside on the bypass is always humming, but inside we’re just focused on the assembly lines and the quality checks. It isn't always smooth sailing; machines jam and sometimes the ink batches aren't exactly right, but we sort it out. We aren't some distant corporation that doesn't care about the small details. Most of the staff here have been with us for years, and they know the sound of a machine that's running perfectly versus one that needs a bit of grease. We make a lot of pens, from the basic ones students use to slightly nicer ones. It’s just what we do. Our building is easy to find if you’re coming around the bypass, right there in Janakpuri. It’s a practical space, mostly taken up by production and storage. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or big speeches. We just want to make sure that when someone picks up one of our pens, it actually writes. That’s the whole point of being here every morning and getting the work done without much fuss.
