G K Clinic

Mannady is one of those parts of Chennai where the streets are narrow and everything feels very close together. G K Clinic is at No 13 Iyyappa Street, which is a tight little lane. If you’re looking for us, we’re right near the Vinayakar temple, which helps people find their way since the streets all start to look the same after a while. The clinic is small, just a little storefront really. We have a heavy fan that stays on all day to keep the Chennai heat at bay. You can hear the bells from the temple sometimes, and the sound of scooters squeezing past the front door. We mostly serve the local people who live in the apartments and houses around Mannady. It’s a very local vibe. People come in and chat with the staff like they’ve known them forever, and many of them have. We don't have a lot of fancy technology. It’s mostly just a desk, some chairs, and a room for exams. The walls are a bit scuffed from years of people leaning against them. It’s a humble place, but it does the job for the folks around Iyyappa Street. We know most of our patients by name. It feels more like a neighborhood gathering spot sometimes than a medical clinic, but we still take the work seriously. It’s just life in a crowded part of the city, and we are happy to be a small part of it.
