Crystal Villa is where we are based, over on Kulandaivelu Street in Purasawalkam. It’s an old-style name for a building, but it is just a practical place for us to run the business. Purasawalkam is one of those Chennai neighborhoods where the streets are narrow and there is always something going on. You have to be careful driving down Kulandaivelu Street because of the bikes and the people walking everywhere. Our office isn’t huge, but it fits the team just fine. We have the usual ceiling fans going all day to fight off the Chennai heat. It’s not like those glass buildings you see in the IT parks; it feels more like a proper old-school Chennai office. We’ve been here at number 28 for quite a while now. The neighbors know us, and we know the local shops where we get our morning coffee. Working in Chennai-7 has its own rhythm. The afternoons can get a bit slow when the sun is hitting the building, but we keep at it. We don't really do anything fancy here, just handle the freight paperwork and talk to customers on the phone. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the day. It is a bit cramped sometimes with all the files and folders, but it’s a good, honest place to work. We just stay busy and keep the paperwork moving along.
