Our office is located at 5 Anna Salai on Mount Road. If you know Chennai, you know how busy this area gets. It’s always moving, always loud. Fortune Marketing Pvt Ltd. is tucked into one of the buildings here. We spend our days mostly on the phone or typing away at our desks. The heat in the afternoon can be really something, even with the fans going full blast. We’ve got a small balcony where we go to get some air, though it’s mostly just exhaust from the buses. We don't have a lot of decorations on the walls, just some calendars and notes pinned up. It’s a functional space. People think marketing is all about big ideas, but for us, it’s mostly just staying organized and making sure the clients are happy. We eat lunch at our desks more often than we should. There’s a tea guy who comes around at four o'clock, and that’s usually the highlight of the day. The building is old and the elevator is a bit shaky, so most of us just take the stairs. We’ve been here long enough that we know the security guards by name. It’s a grind, but it’s a good one. We’re just a small team trying to make things work in the middle of a very big city. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what we do.
