If you are walking down 2nd Avenue in Anna Nagar, you’ll find Foamex at C-39. We’ve been in this spot for years. It’s a decent area, though parking can be a bit of a headache during the weekends. Inside, it smells like new foam and fabric. We spend our time cutting pieces to size for people who want to fix up their old chairs or get a new mattress for a guest room. It’s messy work sometimes with all the scraps on the floor, but we sweep up every evening. I’ve seen this street change a lot since we started. There are more cafes now, but we’re still here doing the same thing. People come in with specific measurements written on scraps of paper. We try to get it right the first time so they don't have to come back twice. It’s just me and a few others working the floor. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a counter and a lot of stock piled up high. It’s a very practical shop. You come in, you see what you need, and we get it ready for you. We don't do much talking unless it's about the thickness of a foam sheet. Anna Nagar is a good place to be, and we’re glad to be a small part of the local market here on the avenue.
