Festival Paints

You can find us at 20/88 on Mettu Street, tucked into the first lane in Kaladipet. It’s a small street, but we’ve been here long enough that most of the neighbors know where we are. The shop is usually full of cans and buckets of paint. There is always that faint smell of fresh paint in the air, which we don't even notice anymore. We spend a lot of time mixing colors or helping people figure out how much paint they actually need for a room. It’s a messy job sometimes, especially when we’re moving heavy tins around. The floors have a few splashes of color here and there from over the years. Kaladipet is a lively area, and Mettu Street always has people moving back and forth. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. If the shelves look a bit disorganized, it’s usually because it’s been a busy morning. We don’t go for anything fancy; it’s a hardware-style setup where people come in, get what they need for their house or project, and head out. We keep a ledger for the regular customers who come by. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy from morning until we close the shutters at night. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when it’s quiet and watch the world go by. We’ve got a small fan in the corner that rattles, but it keeps the air moving.
