Fema Textiles Garments Ltd. is situated at No. 4/49 Mosque Street in Vadapalani. Being on Mosque Street means there’s always a lot of movement and noise, which we’ve just grown to accept as part of the day. Our building is tucked in among several others. It's a tall, narrow place where we handle different stages of garment making on each floor. The stairs are steep, and we spend a lot of time running up and down them. We’ve got stacks of fabric piled up almost to the ceiling in some rooms. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it. The lights are bright because you need to see the stitching clearly. We don’t have a big corporate cafeteria; we usually just bring tiffins from home and eat together when we can. Vadapalani is a busy hub, so finding a parking spot is always a nightmare for anyone visiting. Most of our workers have been with us for a long time. We know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. We don’t use any high-tech management systems. Just paper logs and memory mostly. It’s worked for us so far. We just try to get the garments finished without too many mistakes. It’s a hard-working atmosphere here. If you’re looking for the office, just head down Mosque Street and look for the number.
