Our office is at 23 Sir Theyagaraya Road in T. Nagar. If you know Chennai, you know how crazy T. Nagar gets. It’s packed with people and shops and cars all day long. We’re right in the middle of that mess. The noise from the street comes right through the windows, but you stop noticing it after a while. We do export work here, which involves a lot of back-and-forth with the docks and the transport guys. Our space is pretty basic. We’ve got some sturdy tables, a lot of filing cabinets, and a water cooler that everyone huddles around when it’s hot. We aren't into the corporate look. You won't see anyone in a suit here unless they have a very important meeting, and even then, they probably take the jacket off as soon as they sit down. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a blessing in the 600017 area code. We’ve been at this address for a while and the locals know us. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get the boxes on the ships and the payments settled. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking lists. Sometimes we stay late when a shipment is delayed, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. It’s a busy life in a busy part of town and we like it that way.
