Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme

This is the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme office. We are located right at the Station Head Quarters in Fort St George, Chennai. It’s a very old and historic part of the city. Being inside the fort means there’s a lot of security and old buildings all around. We’ve been operating from this 600009 location for quite some time. We mostly deal with former military personnel and their health records. It’s a government-related setup, so things are done in a very specific way. The office is functional and full of files and desks. We don't have any fancy carpets or modern art on the walls. It’s a place for work. Chennai can get very hot, but the thick walls of the old buildings at Fort St George keep it a bit cooler. We see a lot of veterans every day. They come from all over the state to get their health matters sorted. It can be a long day sometimes with all the paperwork. We don't do any advertising because the people who need us already know where we are. It’s just a steady stream of people coming through the gates. We keep the records in order and try to help the visitors however we can. It’s a quiet, serious kind of place. There isn’t much else to it, really, just the daily grind of administration. We've been here for years.
