Out here in the Athipet Industrial Estate, things stay pretty loud and moving. We’ve been running this shop at S. No. 203/3 on Nageswara Rao Road for quite a while now. Most people find us by looking for the III Cross sign, though the roads can be a bit dusty when the big trucks roll through. We manufacture tyres, mostly the heavy-duty kind that need to last on rough ground. It’s not the cleanest work, but someone has to do it. My hands are usually covered in some kind of rubber dust by noon. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk or decorating the office because we’re mostly on the floor seeing how the presses are doing. Ambattur is a tough place for traffic, so we try to get our loading done early in the morning before the main roads clog up. It’s a lot of heat and heavy lifting around here, but the crew knows what they’re doing. We’ve got a few old machines that still run better than the new ones. If you come by, you’ll probably hear the noise from the street. It’s a practical setup, nothing more than what’s needed to get the orders out the door. We aren't trying to be the biggest place on the block, just trying to keep the machines running and the tyres coming out right. Sometimes the rain floods the road a bit, but we keep working through it. That’s just how it goes here.
