Operating Elocompo Electronic Industries out of the Functional Industrial Estate in Perungudi means we’re surrounded by other businesses just like us. Our units, No.31 to 33, are where all the electronics work actually happens. It’s a busy spot, especially in the mornings when everyone is arriving at the estate. We spend our days looking at small parts and making sure everything fits where it should. There’s a lot of dust that comes with being in an industrial area, so we’re always cleaning the benches. The team is just a handful of people who’ve learned the ropes over a long time. We don't really do the whole corporate meeting thing; we just talk across the room when something needs fixing. Perungudi has changed a lot since we first moved in, with more traffic and new buildings popping up everywhere. Our space is filled with boxes and components piled up on shelves. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, but we know where everything is. Lunch is usually a quick affair so we can get back to the assembly. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, which makes the place feel like a small community. You won't find any glossy brochures here. We just focus on the electronics and making sure the orders go out when they’re supposed to. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied from Monday to Saturday. We like it that way.
