We are located on College Road in Nungambakkam, at the spot people used to call Old No. 12, though now the sign says New No. 12-29. It’s a busy part of the city, and the traffic on College Road can be a real headache some days. Our building has been here for years, and it shows its age a bit, but it’s sturdy. Inside, Eastern Chrome Tanning Corporation Pvt Ltd is mostly just piles of paperwork and the sounds of tanning work happening in the back sections. We’ve seen Nungambakkam change a lot over the years, with new shops and cafes popping up everywhere, but we just keep doing our thing. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have old desks and filing cabinets that have been there since before I started. Most of the staff live nearby, so we all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. We don't go in for big advertisements or flashy signs. If you need us, you know where to find us. Sometimes we have to deal with the humidity, which isn't great for the leather, but we have our ways of managing it. It’s just a regular workplace where people put in their hours and go home. We don’t try to be something we’re not. It’s about the tanning process and making sure the orders are ready when the trucks pull up. That’s really all there is to it for us.
