Our office is over at No.8/10 in Thiruvalluvar Nagarkeela Andar Veethi. It’s easy enough to find if you know the area even a little bit. We run a chit fund business from this small space. It’s mostly about helping neighbors save up for things they need later on. We spend a lot of time writing things down in thick ledgers. Every month, people come by to pay their bits or to see who got the pot. It can get a little noisy when everyone shows up at the same time, but we manage somehow. We’ve got a couple of old chairs for people to wait their turn. It’s nothing fancy, just a workspace with some desks and paper. We started this because there was a real need for it in this part of town. The building is an old one, but it stays cool enough most days. We know the routine well after all these years. Monday to Saturday, we’re at the desk by nine. We don’t do much advertising at all. People usually hear about us from their cousins or friends who live nearby. That’s just how things work around here. We handle the math and the records ourselves. Sometimes the computers act up, so we stick to the paper backups just to be safe. It’s honest work. We see the kids growing up in the street outside and the neighbors passing by. We’ve been in this spot for some time now and we plan to stay right here.
