Draftsmen

Our place is right on Thiruvalluvar Street, near the Velacherry Checkpost in Chennai. It’s at number 3/7 in Nehru Nagar. If you know the checkpost area, you know it gets pretty crowded around here. We’ve been working out of this spot for a while now. The office is usually filled with the sound of the fan and the occasional horn from the street. We do a lot of technical drawing and planning. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a few of us here. We keep our tools and computers running through the day. The humidity in Chennai can be tough, but we manage. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a set of drawings. The neighborhood has a lot of small businesses like ours. We see the same people every morning on their way to work. It’s a familiar routine. Nehru Nagar is a busy part of town but our street is okay. We don't have fancy brochures or a front desk person. You just walk in and we're usually at the desks. We’ve got stacks of paper everywhere and the smell of ink. It’s a practical place for practical work. We’ve been at 3/7 for a long time and the locals know what we do. It’s just how we spend our days, measuring and drawing for whoever needs it. It gets the job done and keeps us connected to the neighborhood.
