Dr Vels Health Clinic

We are located at No 30/73 in West Mambalam, right near the Postal Colony bus stop. It is a busy area in Chennai and there is always a lot of noise from the buses pulling in and out. People often stop by because they saw our sign while waiting for their ride. The clinic isn't huge but we have enough space for the patients who come in. Dr. Vels is usually in the back office. We have some old chairs in the waiting room that have been there for years. The floor gets dusty quickly with all the foot traffic from the street outside. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit but we have a backup for the lights. It gets hot in the afternoons so the overhead fans are always spinning fast. We see all kinds of people from the neighborhood. Some just want a quick checkup or have a fever that won't go away. The receptionist knows most of the regulars by name now. We keep the files in big metal cabinets. It’s nothing fancy at all. We just open up in the morning and stay until the last person leaves. Being near the Postal Colony bus stop makes it easy for people to find us even if they aren't from West Mambalam. There’s a small shop next door that sells snacks and sometimes we go there for a break. That is basically us.
