Our clinic is located over in Kodambakkam, specifically at number 21 on the 1st Main Road in VOC Nagar. This part of Chennai is always moving, and Dr. Subbaraya Nagar is no different. The clinic is set up to handle women's health needs in a simple, straightforward way. We have a waiting room that’s usually filled with the sound of a television or just people chatting while they wait for their turn. The furniture is a bit older, but it’s comfortable enough. We see a lot of women from the local neighborhood who walk over from their homes nearby. The street outside can be quite noisy with all the bikes and cars zooming past, especially during the school run hours. Inside, we try to keep things as calm as possible despite the bustle of the city. We have a small desk at the entrance where we write down names and collect the basic info. The rooms where we talk to patients are quite plain, with just the necessary medical items and a couple of chairs. Most of the people working here have been around for a long time and know the regular patients by name. It’s a very local feel, not like those big corporate hospitals you see in the city center. We just open up in the morning, see who comes in, and try to help them out before closing up for the night. The waiting area can get pretty warm if the AC isn't running.
