Deepa Enterprises

Thacker Street in Purasawalkam is one of those places where you really have to watch where you are walking. Our place, Deepa Enterprises, is at 17/9, right in the thick of things. It’s a bit of an old building, but it has character and it keeps the rain off our heads. We deal with a lot of different items here, mostly stuff that businesses in the local market need. The streets around us are narrow, and sometimes getting a delivery truck in is a real puzzle. We spend a lot of time moving things around to make space for new arrivals. It’s a busy atmosphere with people shouting and bells ringing from the nearby shops. We don't have a lobby or a place for people to sit and wait. Most people just stand by the counter and talk to us while we work. We’ve been part of this community for a good while, and we know most of the faces that pass by our door. It is a bit chaotic during the festival seasons, but that is just part of being in Purasawalkam. We don't try to act like we are some big corporation. We are just a local business trying to do things right and stay on top of the daily pile of paperwork and stock. It is a lot of work to keep everything moving, but we managed so far and we aren't planning on changing anything soon. It’s a busy life but we enjoy it.
