Crystals Palace

Crystals Palace is located inside Srinivas Appartment at 17 Turnbulls Road. It’s on the 1st Cross Street in the Nandanam area. It’s a bit different because we aren't a storefront on the main road. You have to come into the building to find us. It’s a quiet residential street for the most part, so it’s a bit of a relief from the Chennai traffic. We have crystals and stones laid out all over the place. They are heavy and sometimes a bit sharp, so we have to be careful when we move them. The apartment isn't huge but we’ve made it work for the business. We keep the curtains drawn sometimes to keep the heat out. The light hits the stones in a nice way during the afternoon. We spend a lot of time sorting things by size and color. It’s a very manual process. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment. We just use our eyes and hands to check everything. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they live nearby. We usually have the radio playing some news or local songs. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere. We don't wear uniforms or anything like that. Just regular clothes for a regular day of work. If the doorbell rings, it’s usually a delivery or a neighbor coming to check something out. It feels more like a home than an office.
