Council For Leather Exports (Sponsored By Ministry Of Commerce And Industry Government Of India)

We are located on the 3rd floor of CMDA Tower II, right on Gandhi-Irwin Bridge Road in Egmore. It’s a busy government-related office where we handle things for the leather export industry. Since we are sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, there’s always a lot of paperwork and official forms to deal with every single day. The office is usually filled with the sound of old printers and people talking on phones. We don't have fancy decor or anything modern in the rooms. It’s mostly rows of desks and green cabinets full of files that have been there for many years. Being in Egmore means the train station is right nearby, so there’s always a crowd outside the building. We spend our days helping people understand the rules for exporting leather and making sure the records are straight. It’s not the most exciting work, but it’s important for the local trade. Sometimes the elevators in the tower take forever to arrive, so we just take the stairs to save time. We aren't here to sell you anything or make big promises like a regular company. We just process the applications and try to keep the leather business moving along as best we can. The view of the bridge is okay, but most of the time we are too busy looking at spreadsheets or talking to visitors who come in with questions. It’s just a typical day here.
