Zooqa Trade

Zooqa Trade is tucked away on 1st Street in Veerapandi, very close to the bus depot in Choolaimedu. Being at No. 56/60 means we get to hear the buses pulling in and out all day long. The street is always narrow and crowded with people moving about. We handle a lot of different goods, so our space is usually packed with cardboard boxes stacked all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit down because there is stock everywhere. We do a lot of loading and unloading right on the curb, which can be a bit of a mess when it rains. Choolaimedu is a busy area and we are right in the thick of it. Most of the day is spent checking invoices and making sure the right boxes go to the right people. We aren't a big corporate office with a reception desk. It’s just us in our shirtsleeves, moving things around and taking orders over the phone. The air is always a bit humid and the fans never seem to move quite enough air. We have been at this location for a while and we know most of the other shopkeepers on the street. It’s a simple trading life where we just try to keep the inventory moving and the paperwork mostly organized in the folders we keep on the metal shelves.
