Kids World

Kids World is located on the first floor over at Plot No. 8 in the Nehru Timber Market area. The address can be a bit confusing because it has a new number 41 and an old number 14. We are on Sattanna Naicken Street in Choolai. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a children's business because the whole street is mostly about wood and timber. You can often smell the sawdust from the shops downstairs. We have a staircase that’s a little narrow, so you have to be careful coming up. Inside, we have everything organized as best as we can, but with kids' stuff, things always end up a bit disorganized by midday. We have toys and clothes piled on shelves. The light from the windows is good in the morning, but we need the big lamps on in the afternoon. We don't have a fancy display window or anything like that. Most of our visitors are locals who know we’re up here. We spend our time checking through inventory and talking to parents who are looking for something specific. It’s a family-run feel here. We don't use any corporate jargon or have big meetings. We just decide what needs to be done and do it. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the traffic outside, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. It’s a practical, no-nonsense shop for families in the neighborhood who need things that actually last for their children to use daily.
