Asis Laminates

Our shop is right in the Nehru Timber Market on Sydenhams Road in Choolai. We have these two door numbers, 284 and 537, which sometimes confuses people, but we’re all in the same spot. Being in the timber market means there’s always the smell of wood and sawdust in the air. We focus on laminates, so we have stacks of different sheets leaning against the walls. It’s a lot of lifting and moving these big pieces around when someone wants to see a particular pattern or color. The market is always crowded with carts and trucks, especially in the mornings. It’s a bit chaotic, but that’s just how Choolai is. We’ve been here long enough to know most of the other traders on the street. Our space isn't exactly modern; it’s got high ceilings and old floors that have seen better days. We don't have a website or any of those things. People just come in, look at the samples, and tell us how many sheets they need for their furniture or whatever project they’re working on. It’s straightforward work. We spend a lot of time moving things so we can reach the stock at the back. It gets hot in the summer with the tin roof, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving a bit. It’s a busy life here in the timber market, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
