Chennai Cottage Industries

You can find us located at 59/30 Parthasarthi Pillai Street. We are tucked away in the Old Washermanpet area, not very far from where the old Pandian theatre used to be. It is an older part of the city, and the streets have a lot of character. We deal with different kinds of handmade goods and supplies that you would expect from a cottage industry. Our shop isn't fancy at all. It is mostly a workspace where we keep things as organized as possible. Some days the place is quiet, and other days we have stuff piled up everywhere because a new shipment came in. We know where everything is, even if it looks a bit messy to someone walking in for the first time. People around here have known us for years. We don't spend any money on big signs or marketing. We just keep the doors open and get to work every morning. It involves a lot of manual tasks, checking items over and making sure everything is ready for the people who need them. The street is quite narrow, so it gets crowded with bikes and pedestrians in the late afternoon. It feels like a real community on this block. We know all the other shopkeepers and the families living nearby. It is just a simple, steady way to make a living. We aren't trying to be huge, just trying to do our job well and keep things moving.
