Chennai Architects

Our office is located at No H2/1 Kaveri Apartments, right on L B Road in Adyar. It’s easy to find because we are directly opposite Hotel Barani. If you’ve ever been stuck in the Adyar traffic, you probably know the spot. We are Chennai Architects, and we spend our days looking at floor plans and arguing about where a window should go. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s ours. The apartment we work out of has that old Chennai charm, with the tiled floors and big windows that let in the afternoon light. Sometimes the noise from L B Road gets a bit much, but we’ve gotten used to it. We have a lot of samples lying around—tiles, wood swatches, bits of metal. It’s a bit of a maze in here some days. We don't have a receptionist in a suit or anything like that. You just walk in and one of us will look up from a computer. We’ve been in this part of Chennai for a long time, so we know the rhythm of the city. Being near Hotel Barani is handy for lunch too. We just focus on the drawings and make sure the math adds up. It’s a local business, run by people who actually live here and walk these streets. No fancy promises, just a lot of pens and rulers.
