Velachery is always changing, but we have been here at No 4 for a while now. This is the Chennai office for Ceva Freight India Pvt Ltd. It is a busy place because Velachery itself has become such a hub. You can hear the traffic from the main road all day long, which is just the rhythm of the city. Inside the office, it is quite organized but definitely not fancy. We have the usual stuff like computers, printers, and a lot of filing folders that never seem to get smaller. We handle a lot of freight movement, so there is always someone on the phone arguing about a container or checking a delivery time. It is a practical environment where people actually work hard. We don't have a fancy coffee break room, so we usually just stand around the water cooler for five minutes when we need a break. The air conditioning is the most important thing in the office because the Chennai humidity can be really tough. We are just a group of people who know how to move goods from one place to another. We don't make big claims about being the leaders of anything; we just show up and do the job as best as we can. It’s a very real, everyday kind of operation. We finish our shifts, lock up, and head into the Velachery evening traffic.
