Centum Tuition Centre

Our place is right on Nachiyappa Street in Mylapore. If you know where Sampath Nursing Home is, we are just a short walk from there, near Kachery Road. It is a simple setup here at Centum Tuition Centre. Most days it gets quite busy once the school bells ring and students start walking over. We have a few rooms with desks and chairs where kids sit down to go over their books. It is not a very big space, but it works for what we do. Usually, the afternoons are the loudest when everyone is trying to ask questions at once. We keep some fans going because Chennai gets so hot, especially in the middle of the year. The street outside can be a bit noisy with the traffic and people going about their business. Parents often wait outside near the entrance when classes are finishing up. We have been in this neighborhood for a while now and most people around here recognize us. There is nothing fancy about the building or the way we run things. It is just a place where students come to get their work done after their regular school hours. We keep a stack of old papers and notebooks around for anyone who needs them. Sometimes the lights flicker if the weather is bad, but we just carry on. It feels like a second home to a lot of the local kids who spend their evenings here under the tube lights.
