You’ll find Carlisle Trading & Manufacturing India Pvt Ltd on the 7th floor of Shyamala Towers. We are in the West Wing at 136 Arcot Road in Saligaramam. Being up on the 7th floor gives us a bit of a view, though it’s mostly just the tops of other buildings and the constant stream of cars on Arcot Road. The elevators are a bit slow, so we usually have to wait a few minutes every morning. The office is a bit more modern than some, with actual cubicles and a proper carpet, but it’s still a busy, working space. We have a water cooler that everyone huddles around to gossip a bit. Chennai is always humid, so the air conditioning is usually running full blast, which makes it feel a bit like a fridge inside. We have piles of folders on most desks because we still haven't gone completely paperless. The staff is a mix of people from all over the city. We don't have any big posters about being the best or anything like that. We just have our tasks and we try to get through them by the end of the day. Lunch is usually someone going out to get some parotta for the group. It’s a straightforward place to work. We don't go in for long meetings that don't go anywhere. We just handle the trading and manufacturing details and keep things moving forward.
