E.K. Guru Street is a busy place, and that’s where you’ll find C. Thufail Ahmed & Co. We are located at New No. 5, which used to be Old No. 19 many years ago. People still get the numbers mixed up sometimes when they are looking for us, but we’ve been here long enough that most folks in the area know the way. Periamet is famous for its history with trade, and we are right in the middle of all that action. The street is quite narrow and there’s always someone moving goods or parking a scooter. Our office is a very simple place. We have stacks of old ledgers and a few chairs for visitors. It’s not about the decor here; it’s about the business we’ve been doing for a long time. We handle a lot of phone calls and have people dropping in throughout the day. You can hear the sounds of the market and the traffic right outside the door. It’s a lively spot to work. We don’t have a fancy website or a big social media presence. We prefer just talking to people face to face or over a quick phone call. Most of us have been working here for years, so we know the rhythm of the street by heart. When it rains, the water collects a bit near the entrance, but we just put down some bags and keep going. It’s an honest way to make a living.
