Bon Freight

Bon Freight is tucked away on Bhajanai Koil Street, inside the Chandan Apartments in Choolaimedi. Being in Chennai, we deal with the humidity and the crowded streets every single day. It’s a busy part of town, especially near house number 14. We aren't a massive operation with a glass building. Instead, we work out of this apartment space where the fans are always spinning. Dealing with freight means there is always a phone ringing or someone asking about a shipment. It gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of documents piled up, but we manage to find what we need. Most of the staff here have lived in Chennai for years, so we know the shortcuts and how the local transport system operates. We spend a lot of time checking on containers and making sure the paperwork for the port is actually correct. It's a lot of back-and-forth communication. Sometimes the rain slows things down, or the traffic on the main road makes it hard for people to reach us quickly. We don’t have a big corporate team; it is just a few of us making sure things move. People stop by sometimes just to check on their parcels or ask for a price. We try to keep things straightforward. No one here is wearing a suit or giving big speeches. We just handle the freight and try to make sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle.
