Binny Ltd, Container Freight Station

We are located on the second floor of building number 12 over on Flag Staff Street in Royapuram. If you know Chennai, you know Royapuram is a busy place, especially with all the port activity nearby. Being a container freight station means we deal with a lot of heavy metal boxes and shipping schedules. It’s not the quietest job, but it’s what we do. Our office is fairly basic. We have some chairs, desks, and a lot of files. You can hear the city outside all day long. We’ve been at this location for quite some time. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit narrow, but once you’re up here, it’s where all the coordination happens. We deal with customs and cargo and all that goes along with it. It’s a lot of coordination between the ships and the trucks. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy speeches. We just answer the phones and check the manifests. It’s a practical business. Royapuram has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of it. Most of the people we work with are regulars who have been coming to Flag Staff Street for years. We just try to keep things moving along without too much fuss. It's a lot of work, but we like being right here in the middle of it all.
