Bell Ceramics

Our shop is on Arcot Road in Vadapalani. The address used to be Old Number 37, but now it is New Number 6, which sometimes confuses people who haven't visited us in a while. Arcot Road is always packed with cars and buses, so it is a lively place to be. We have tiles of all shapes and sizes stacked up against the walls and in the back storage area. It is a narrow building, so we have to be careful how we pile things up so nothing falls over. Most of our days are spent talking to contractors or homeowners who are tired of their old floors and want something new. We have samples lying around everywhere, and there is usually a layer of dust from the nearby construction and the road. It is just a regular local shop where we know our customers by name after a few visits. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that; we just have a small desk near the front where we write out the bills and keep track of the inventory. The fan usually runs at full speed to keep the heat away, but it still gets quite warm in the afternoons. We have been in Vadapalani for a long time and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, but we just keep selling our ceramics and doing things the same way we always have. The old wooden door still creaks a bit when people walk in.
