Banu Tuition Centre

This is Banu Tuition Centre down in Tiruvottiyur. Our place is at No 8/ 59 on Uthaya Suriyan 2nd Street. Most people know this part as Saathuma Nagar, right near the Tolgate. It is a very local area. People around here are always on the move. We have been set up in this building for some time. It is not a huge place but it works for what we do. Every day, the students walk over from the nearby houses or get dropped off. You can hear the sounds of the traffic from the main road sometimes, but it’s mostly okay once you get used to it. We keep the benches lined up and make sure there is enough light for reading. The street outside is usually busy with people going to work or heading to the market. We are just part of the neighborhood here. We don't have big signs or anything very bright. Just the name on the front so people know they found the right spot. When the sun is high in the afternoon, it gets quite warm, so the ceiling fans are always running at full speed. We spend most of our time looking at notebooks and going over what was taught in school that morning. It is a straightforward setup. Nothing too complicated or corporate about it. Just a place where kids sit and do their work in Tiruvottiyur. We see a lot of the same families year after year.
