Bakkiyam Travels

We are tucked away at No:55, Vaithiyanathan Mudhali Street, over in the Mint area of Chennai. The easiest way for anyone to find us is to look for Murugan Theatre because we are situated right opposite that. It is a landmark that everyone in this part of town knows well. The office is very simple. We just have a few desks where we sit and take care of bus and car bookings for whoever comes in. The street is usually full of people and street vendors, especially in the evenings when a movie is letting out across the road. We see a lot of regulars who live in the surrounding streets and just walk over when they need to visit their family in other towns. There is always a bit of dust coming in from the road and the noise from the theatre crowds is constant, but we don't really mind it. We have been here long enough that the noise just feels like home. Sometimes the old ceiling fan makes a clicking sound, but it keeps us cool while we work through the paperwork. We don't do anything flashy here. It is just about looking up travel routes and giving people their tickets. We keep a ledger and use our computers to keep track of everything. It can get a bit cramped when several people come in at once, but we always manage to get the work done.
