We’re over in Porur, specifically at Plot No. 3 in Millennium Mandira on Mangala Nagar 5th Cross Street. The business is called Bachelors Adda Rentals Private Limited. We started this because we saw how hard it was for single guys to find a decent place to live in Chennai without a lot of hassle. Most landlords prefer families, so we try to bridge that gap. We operate out of a quiet spot in Porur, and it’s a pretty busy operation most days. We spend a lot of time talking to property owners and convincing them that bachelors aren't all that bad to have as tenants. Then we have to show the rooms to guys who are often new to the city and don't know where to go. It’s a lot of legwork. We aren't a big rental agency with a shiny office; it’s more of a personal thing for us. We just want to make sure people have a roof over their heads without having to deal with too much drama or unnecessary paperwork. It’s a bit of a juggle sometimes, keeping track of who is moving in and who is moving out, but we’ve got a good system going now. We’re just regular people trying to solve a regular problem for the young folks coming to work in this city for the first time.
