Babu & Associates

Our place is at No 6 Lake Area, on the first floor. It’s on 5th Cross Street in Nungambakkam. It’s a nice area to be in, even if parking can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes. At Babu & Associates, we spend most of our time dealing with the nuts and bolts of architecture. We aren't really into the flashy stuff you see in movies. Most of our work is making sure a house has enough light and that the plumbing makes sense. We sit around the office with our tea and go over the latest revisions. There is always something to change. One day it's the window size, the next day it's the kitchen layout. We've been in Nungambakkam for a while, so we know the local vibe. People drop in with their ideas, and we try to give them a realistic idea of what can be built. It’s a lot of technical work, checking codes and making sure the structure is solid. We don't have a big corporate feel here. It’s more like a workshop where we're trying to figure things out. We like the process of seeing a drawing turn into an actual building, even if it takes a long time and involves a lot of paperwork. It’s mostly just us, a few computers, and a lot of drawings spread out across the tables. We try to keep things grounded and just get the drawings done right so the builders know exactly what they need to do.
