We are located at No 46 on the 1st Floor of Perumal Mudali Street in Sowcarpet. This part of Chennai is famous for its narrow lanes and heavy crowds. It’s a very traditional market area. We are near Chinnamman Koil, which is a well-known temple around here. The sound of temple bells and the noise from the street are things we hear all day long at B T Vajawat & Co. Our office is a simple place where we manage our daily business. We have a few desks and some old wooden cupboards for our files. It’s not the kind of place that would be in a magazine. It’s just where we work. Space is a bit tight, but we’ve made it work for us. Most of the people who come here are regulars who have known us for years. We don’t do a lot of advertising. People just find us by word of mouth or because they are already in Sowcarpet for other things. We start our day early to avoid the worst of the traffic, though it’s never really quiet here. We enjoy being in this part of town because there is always something happening. There is a lot of history in these streets. We just try to do our jobs properly and keep things moving. It’s a straightforward way of living and working. No fuss, no complications. We just focus on the tasks at hand and wait for the evening cool.
